Two weeks ago, I dropped my mobile phone in a bowl of hot tasty noodle soup.
As much as it seems to be the end of the world, I wonder how things would change around me without mobile phone, which many of us take it for granted.
On Day 1, it feels like I have lost an integral part of myself, but I quickly realize the fact that I can talk with friends on Facebook at home and work. I eliminated hours after hours of trash I would have been messing about on my phone.
As long as I get to Day 3, I feel liberated.
The inconvenience really kicked in when it comes to hanging out with friends. I would need to tell them where and when to meet in advance; it just feels like middle school all over again. I enjoyed it.
In the second week, my friend told me I could use Telegram without phone, honestly though, I can’t be bothered.
I am easily distracted and have no discipline, I can see myself being sucked into the Metaverse again once I get a new phone. That’s exactly why I am not getting a new phone and I can definitely get on with it.
Let’s see how long it will last.
Edit in 2017: I managed to get through two months or so, before I was sucked in by a new phone again. I consider it a success.
